An economic storm is sweeping through the global economy. Experts inundate us with contradicting perspectives making the present difficult to understand and the future hard to see.
Tumultuous times inspired the launching of these essays in January of 2009. Since then the world has struggled and settled, then struggled and settled again. We should expect the same for many years to come. It is my view that we are living through a rare time in human history, where the nature of economy changes dramatically.
Having no economics degree, it would only seem prudent to call these perspectives those of an armchair economist. Taking a few undergraduate courses in economics doesn’t get you a degree, but a lifelong passion of studying people probably qualifies for at least an OJT in behavioral economics.
Like the weekend sports fan sitting back in his favorite chair, questioning coach, players, referees and team owner, this site is dedicated to and contains thoughts from an economic everyman.
Keep in mind that the Armchair is from the armchair. Don't have too high expectations, but then...
